The
'Moonstone Project'
Steel Dreams won a contract to produce,
supply and erect a futuristic steel and glass, staircase
and walkway as part of an exiting new eco building development,
affectionately entitled 'The Moonstone Project'.
'The Moonstone Project', situated near
Swindon in the Cotswold's, is the brainchild of, and is
being project managed and built by, John Croft, the owner
of the house and David Croft, a founder of the Federation
of Master Builders.
It is an 'Eco-Friendly', self-build, project
which is hoped will pay for it's own running costs, by generating
more electricity than is needed to run the house, sell this
back to the national grid, and then use this income to pay
for Council Tax / water bills and the like.
'The Moonstone Project' is also to feature
in an up and coming Sky TV programme about the development,
dedicated to the design, construction and completion of
the scheme.
The staircase and walkway which Steel
Dreams were commissioned to supply, had to meet the exacting
eco-friendly standards laid down by the project leaders,
as well as being a magnificent and eye-catching structure
in its own right - this really was a 'Steel Dream'!
